hi , I have an atc
triac
probably once a year the spindle bearings works a bit loose and you get a rough finish and can jiggle the tool a bit .
I usually just tighten it up and tap down a new tab washer.
is this normal as its becoming a pain .
or can you recommend a fix so I may not have to do it again
cheers

Re: spindle bearing coming loose
Is this the tool becoming loose in the spindle taper? There should only be 44 washers in the spring stack and these are secured by the lock nut at the top of the spindle.
See the post attached as the spindle arangement should be the same as the 1300.
The locknut is secured with a grub screw so should not come loose.

Re: spindle bearing coming loose
The tool is good in the spindle
It’s the spindle body in the casting because the bearings have loosened because the locking adjusting ring loosens if that makes senses

Re: spindle bearing coming loose
Is it the Locknut BI00186H that is coming loose?
We changed the style fitted when we designed the VMC1300. The new part is BI00186HH which has a spring steel locking plate on top. This could be fitted to your machine.
These are priced at £19
