i have a denford triac 1987 and the atc has been playing up i had to replace all of the airlines on the machine as they were ether split or leeking but the machine still leaks my problem is i can use a whole tank of air in one tool change as soon as i turn the ari above 20 psi somethin clicks on and air pours out! thing it i can't find from where? i think it maby the valves which open & close are worn do i need to change seals? or do i need to buy new valves if so where do i get the parts?

my second problem is the draw bar it will not always open fully and sometimes jams...with holders half way up the tool caracell pushes them up and it jams colses the drawbar and drops the tools, looks like the whold atc is not moving enought towards the spindle....can i adjust this and which do i move the swiches or the piston nuts? also it has a habit of not alinging the spindle in a toolchange... error code spindle drive fault when the spindle wont stop in the right place ,this only happens 1-10 toolchanges i dont know if the two are connected problems?

any help i would apreciate!!

What software do you have with the machine? Is it DOS or VR Milling 2?

If it's VR Milling then you can manually activate each of the M Codes in the toolchanger sequence (arm in, Arm out, tool release etc) and then find which one causes the air rush.

You should also find where the air is coming out. It may be on the manifold. It could be it is piped incorrectly.

Can you take some photos of the tool release cylinder? I think it will be a Brauer unit (not sure if that is spelt correctly) which is an oill filled intensifier. Over time these can leak and the travel of the cylinder reduces and this can cause the tool not to be released. (there is adjustment on these though so you may be able to correct it.

The list of mcodes that should let you operate the ATC manually is in this post:

I have fixed the leak not sure how that worked thee was a valve which was leaking but i looked at the pipe the piece come out the valve and back in the other side? why??? some type of drop out presure valve anyway just out of intrest i pulled it off and bypassed it! with a 6mm hose its great workss a treet! no more leaks why dident i do that 6 months ago.... lol....i would like to put i back on but i t looks like all the seals are shot can this be fixed?

One more problem...... The spindle doesent always orient properly it spins for adges an then stops in the wrong place when the drawbar pushes down it corects it , i think this may be brush wear & carbon build up in the motor i had a simalar problem in my triac pc. it also wont keep the rpm of the spindle consistant like if you set 500 prm it will flutcuate 460-540 cant get? i right ,the motor is a lenzee where do i get the bits to fix it?

Thanks again for the help!
