Fanuc OM controller - Z axis problems

Post by David Yori » Sun 26 Jul , 2009 9:42 am

Help ! My Triac ATC with Fanuc OM controller was working fine, but I was playing around trying to get the DNC input working. Now the z axis wont move, and is stuck in the home position. When you try and jog, the x & y axis move, OK with the leds on the relevant switches lighting, but the leds for the z axis dont light, and the axis will not move. Any idea what i could have done ? Thanks.

Have you been changing parameters to get the DNC working ? Maybe you've altered the wrong one ?

Yep, spot on. I managed to change one of the parameters as advised somewhere or other. Everything is now working, and even have the DNC drip feed working perfectly. Cant beleive it. Still a few niggly issues, but i'm getting there. When I turn the machine on, the units alway go back to inches. How can i make it stay in mm ? Is there anywhere where I can download all of the parameters/diagnostics for this machine for future debugging ? Thanks.

I think you'd be best downloading your current parameters and printing them out.

There are some manuals on here and I thought I'd seen parameters listings, but the chances of them being correct for your particular machine are slim.
