TRIAC RS232 cable
I downloaded the ZIP file with the pin out diagram, but I do not understand what pin 5 (five) is supposed to do. I looks like it is connected to pins 2 and 3.
Please clarify.
Thanks,
Jim

TRIAC RS232 cable pin out
The RS232 cable wiring diagram shows pin out of pins 2 and 3 going from the 9pin connector to pins 3 and 2 of the 25 pin connector. Pin 5 on the 9 pin connector is shown looping around pins 2 and 3. This is what is confusing me. What's up with pin 5 on the 9 pin connector? Also pin 7 on the 25 pin connector loops around pins 3 and 2 of the 25 pin connector.
Thnaks, Jim

Can you put a link to the diagram you are looking at and downloaded?
Pins 2 and 3 are ready transmit and recieve. the next 2 pins ( 4 & 5) are ready to send and ready to recieve.
These pins may not be used and in which case they would be linked to the ground.
Attach the link se we know what you are refering to.
