Early TRIAC Spindle motor wiring problem, key pressed 33 msg

Post by DCL_1604 » Tue 03 Feb , 2009 13:50 pm

Hi, I need some help getting an early TRIAC running, it's a 1984 machine, looks like serial number 20. It's single phase 240v.

apparently the machine was split apart for transportation 10 years ago, and now I've got it, and i'm struggling to put it together again.. 2 immediate issues I'm having:

Basically the spindle motor has 3 connections, U1,V1,W1, plus an earth, and it looks like these should connect to terminals marked A, B, C, on the main circuit board.. Is it as simple as: U1=A, V1=B, W1=C ? I don't want to damage the circuit boards by getting it wrong.

When I power on the machine, I get a message saying key pressed 33 on the screen, although there are no keys being pressed... it seems to be that a key (which one is 33?) is stuck...

Any advice gratefully received....
Thanks in advance. Dave

It sounds like a standard AC motor.

Connect it up as you have suggested. If its wrong it will run in reverse.

If it runs in reverse just switch any pair on the motor ie U1 - B and V1 - A

Sorry no idea on the keys.

If you need another keyboard. I have two spare available.

Probably not too far from you as I am in Bucks on the oxfordshire border.
