I have just purchaesd a Triac with an atc the Fanuc jog wheel is stiff,
is this normal, or can It be stripped to inprove its movement.

also how big a 240 - 415 power converter do I need to run this machine with a 1.5 hp motor.

Fanuc Pulse Generator wheel is usually very free and moves in very small "clicks" ie positions so it sounds like it is "gunged up" and needs a good clean out or there is a mechanical fault, either way it will need to be stripped. ( Carefully!! )

If you want to run a 3 phase machine from a single phase outlet the "rule of thumb" is usually 2 1/2 times the spindle HP plus minimum 2 times the sum of the 3 servo motors HP, then add a bit for all the fans that run in the cabinet and things like coolant pump etc then you should be looking at a minimum 5 Hp unit, probably 7+ Hp to be comfortable.

.

Thanks
