I am continuing repairing the milling machine Triac VMC Sn. 91117A What i did until now:
- Backup battery computer and MINT controller empty: Both replaced.
- Monitor defect: Replaced by an TFT Monitor. USB keyboard connected.
- BIOS: Time set. Startup floppy set to A.
- Starting up with floppy as described in manual.
Screen display as follows:
- starting up WINDOWS 98
- com installed
- machine installed
- IBM desktop progr. (Fanuc V2)
- Driver Keybd. 12. oct. 1993
- IBM VGA driver CRT 3. june 1992
- initialising MINT 3.28
- error 50 MINT controller disconnected
- the RS 232 link to the machine tool couldn't be established, check cables.
- VGA Driver removed
- keybd. driver removed
- RS232 driver removed
- error 128 software aborted
I suppose the MINT controller (Eurostep controller) has a problem (loss of data due to the backup battery fail) since the cable connections are OK.
Can You help me to continue ?
Have You a spare monitor.

- Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then. - Location: Sunny Brighouse

Are you 100% about this ?since the cable connections are OK
Have you double checked that every connection conducts from the PC end to the eurostep ?
Look at this link for the 9-9way cable direct from PC to Control card.

I'd also check the GO file to see if you have the correct com port and irq settings - check the irq in BIOS as well:

I'm sure the battery failing is not a problem
