Triac Z axis

Post by rasp » Thu 12 Jun , 2008 8:54 am

When I got this machine it was OK, now it has run some parts and got oil back on the slides I have this problem.

When I power down my machine, an original servo driven Triac it creeps down until the tool touches the table.

Should it not have a brake or some other device to stop this.

Thanks

Graham.

I am not sure if the servo machine has a brake but the latter stepper machines do.

If there is a brake I would expect it to be built onto the end of the motor.

Can you take some pictures of the motor?

There are some threads on here where a counter ballance has been added to the head.

See link below.

I am sure the guys who posted on this thread will help.

From reading it it looks like ther eis not a brake.

You may want to tighten the Gibb if you have one.
