We are a school and have been given a triac cnc machine by a local engineering company. The serial No. is TR16045B/1 the date of manufacter is June 1985. Other information on the classification plate is- serial No of control 030 and wiring diagrams A3-400030/31/32

Can anyone help with
1/ information or instructions on how to opperate and program it
2/ availability and supplier of the data storage cassette or can the machine be modified to take a conventional cassette.
3/ Interfacing with a pc so we can run design programs eg. Solid works or other 3D programs[/b]

You are asking a number of questions which are complicated in themselves.

My suggestion is you look at the link below "Running an unmodified machine using Mach3.

If you use this method you can ignore most of the slow electronics and use Mach3 on a PC or laptop neglecting the need for an ancient cassette drive.
Mach3 is a modern, cost effective, machine cotroller with great functionality.
Clearly mach3 will take gcode from a suitable post processer from nearly any CAM software. The complicated, and sometimes expensive bit is converting your 3D models to suitable code. There are a number of CAM packages that interface with Mach3. I suggest you visit the mach3 website for more info.
