TRIAC VMC despatch date may 1998 what is it capable of? 3D?
I have recently acquired a Denford TRIAC VMC despatch date May 1998 ser EO5205 with Fanuc ver 2.1 software. I am curious what this machine is capable of doing in its current configuration, and also what mods I might need to do to bring the computer more up to date. Any help would be appreciated.

We need to know the controller fitted in the machine to tell what you have.
Look at the link above and then let us know your control type.

It is capable of 2D profiling, drilling, pocketing and facing at the moment.
With a control card upgrade, you would be able to use any modern PC with a USB connection, and the machine would profile much faster and smoother in both 2D and 3D. The advantage of being able to use a new PC means you could run your 3D design software (CAD and CAM) on the same PC.
The Triac machine is one that benefits heavily from the latest control card - the velocity control improves stepper performance and is far less likely to loose position by stalling the motors.

Triac VMC boot disks
Can any one help with supplying the boot discs for a triac VMC milling machine, I bought the machine from a colledge, and they gave me Nova mill, robot software.
Thanks

Try here:

You may also need to find DOS in order to make the disk bootable, there have been plenty of discussions (in this forum) on how to run DOS and RS232 reliably on a new (XP) PC
