triac spindle speed
hey I mill with 1-3mm cutters so I would like to get up speed from 4000 to 8-20000
is there anyone who has done it?
it is possible to change gear so that the alternate 6000 rpm but is there some other way?
then it would be helpful to know what problems may arise.
ball bearings
how are things going with them?
Thanks
if you think it's bad English, I use google translate

Re: triac spindel speed
I doubt you will get anywhere near those speeds with the existing motor and pulleys.
You could replace the existing motor with a high speed motor, but then you may have bearing issues and balancing issues with the pulleys and toolholders.
The safest option would be to add a router spindle to the left of the triac headstock, and use this as the spindle.

Re: triac spindel speed
I'd also think this is the best way to go - it'll get very expensive to up the main spindle to 20,000RPM.The safest option would be to add a router spindle to the left of the triac headstock, and use this as the spindle.
Most Router motors are able to be mounted and clamped tightly, we have use these motors with good results and they are not so expensive: Proxxon; Kress; Porter Cable and Fimec
