I need to check rs232 7 pin din tx rx on triac. Have checked correct wiring on cable and can download programs to external pc running windows 98 but can't upload.

It was described in a post to check the 7 pin din to switch off machine, switch back on and press t. Info about the din plug should appear. I just get horizontal lines or squares but no info about rs232. Post goes on to say connect input output pins on din plug and onscreen message should change if it is working correctly.

Can anyone offer any advice?

The T test function is only displayed on the small in built monitor inside the machine & not on any external monitors. You may need to get this working correctly to be able to see it. I presume you are using the external monitor mounted on the column.
