:? The monitor on my ORAC lathe has failed. On a visual check of the monitor PCB I founnd diode D3 had a dry joint, so resoldered it but still no joy. I took the monitor to my local TV repair shop...........the guy freaked out, you would have thought I had put a pile of dog poo on the counter. With the usual sucking of teeth that these guys make he informed me I would need to bring "it" back in its original case.
I aquired an old multi voltage (12 - 36v) CCTV type monitor from work and have run with that for about 12 months........but now that has also packed up! I think! Anybody know where I can get the original monitor repaired? The external TV connector works on my small TV OK so I guess the modulator is OK. Orac was suplied 28-09-87 serial number AC 12087C. Hope sombody can help.

You could try these:

https://www.omi-monitors.co.uk/cnc_price.html

They specialise in odd-ball CNC monitor repairs, and it looks like £69 would get yours fixed with a 3 month warranty

We have some old monitors here, but have no idea if they work or not. I'm going to put them in the classified section here with photos. There maybe some parts of use to you.

:D Thanks Denford Admin. I work in Slough so omi-monitors are not too far away from me. But I will also wait and see what you post for sale in the clasified section.
Thanks for the information,
Dave
