Parker SD2 drive question

Post by seaman77 » Sat 23 Mar , 2013 17:30 pm

Hi everyone!

My Orac stepper drive...the SD2 has the red led constantly on and a dead transistor or is it a triac. I can't tell.
Maybe someone can tell by description. It is a TO220 package with its metal back pushing with the aid of a flat spring against the huge heat sink and lots of heat sink paste. There is a bunch of them in the SD2 Parker drive.
I have searched most databases in internet but i could not find datasheet for this part...The PKS0320 date code 0383.
Anyone can help?

Thanks!

I'd post a photo and try emailing a link to Parker http://www.parker.com

...Drive SD2 repaired. Dead power transistor coded PKS0320 was actually a TIP32C direct replacement as a part with the code PKS0320 does not and never existed. I do not understand the reason for printing false codes in part like this.

Glad you got to the bottom of it and it's useful info for anyone else.
Wonder if the PKS was Parker's own spares part code ?

It could be a component exclusively made for Parker yes!
