Orac stepper motors

Post by rob » Fri 15 Jun , 2007 22:41 pm

Hi,

I am in the process of converting my orac to something like mach. I intend to ditch all denfords electronics, and substitute modern stepper controllers. I intend to use the existing steppers if possible, which are MAE. HY 200-3424 -310 AS. I would be grateful for any help as to whether these motors are bi, or unipolar.
I would like to use chopper controllers, in order to increase voltage. I am assuming that these motors will take a higher voltage.

Any information would be gratefully recieved.

Many thanks,
Rob.

Everything you need is in the attached PDF from the Cetronic website.

Cheers

If you parrallel up the windings you can put 4.2 A into them, only 2.1A if the windings are conected in series.

75V Max but would not use much more than 60V
