We have 2 Novaturns with problems.

On 1 the spindle only runs forward. The M4 code for reverse is enabled, nothing happens when the M4 code is clicked on the Control Panel.

On the other machine the spindle only runs in reverse when M3 is clicked and nothing happens when M4 is clicked.

Both machines are from Nov. 2003.

Any ideas on what to look at.

The spindle is set to run in one direction only.

The spindle should revolve clockwise in M03. If a turret is fitted the tools cut from the rear and are inverted if a toolpost is fitted you cut from the front with the tools upright.

Drills also use M03.

There is no option to reverse the spindle.

The machine that runs in the wrong direction (reverse) needs the spindle motor wires reversing.

I am not sure how it can be that the motor is wired in reverse. Has the machine been rewired or serviced?
