A Milling Vice for the Novamill

Post by flyingmike » Sun 30 Mar , 2014 15:58 pm

After some searching around the normal model engineering suppliers I could not find the vice that I wanted for the projects I had in mind so I decided to design and make one :3D:

I cant say I`m a fan of making tooling (would much rather be making parts for my rc models :D ) but this seemed like a good exercise for getting used to my Novamill and Starturn. All the parts were made on these machines except for the large base which had most of the material removed on a Warco mill. The vice has a fixed front jaw and moving rear jaw and is designed to hold a workpiece of maximum size 80mm x 80mm. I tried to keep it as low profile as possible.

Its in grey primer at the moment and soon to be green :fireworks:
