Hi,
I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction to restore my Novamill back to full health.
It was converted to Mach3 about ten years ago by a guy called Tom (Angel-Tech) who used to post on here.
It has been great ever since being converted but when I went to use it this week, the the X, Y and Z drives were all dead. The spindle still operates.
If I tell it to home all drives via the Mach3 screen, the Z position on the pc changes but there is no actual movement. I have to stop it via the Mach3 screen.
The control board is a Baldor F391 version 1.
Any help would be much appreciated as I have no idea what voltages are supposed to appear or where!
Cheers
Clive
PS I have checked all the fuses that I can see.
Update: I found some useful diagrams on another thread that let me identify where the 24v supply came onto the board. This showed that there wasn't a supply.
However, when I put my DVM across the 28v AC supply there was a strange buzzing noise, which stopped before I could react to switch off power.
When I closed the box and switched on the machine it was working again.
Is there a relay that might have got stuck>
