Using Gerber files

Greetings,
I am having difficulty getting gerber files to open properly in VR Milling 5. The files that worked last year are not working this year. so when I open the files in VR milling now, they appear incomplete - I can see some of the track but not all.
I have checked that the gerber files I am using are still valid by opening them on the web site that is suggested elsewhere in this forum, and they appear as they should be.
The only difference I can think of is that we have upgraded the software that runs our 2600 mill. Could this be the problem?
I would appreciate any advice that you may have to offer. Thank you in advance
