Please see this document for help identifying your older machine:

See this document for the benefits of upgrading one of our older machines:
https://www.denfordata.com/projectimages ... lling5.pdf
For example, if you have say a Triac with a euro-card rack control system, upgrading the controller card will enable the machine to create 3D rapid prototypes without any of the old problems like not enough memory to hold large programs, axes stalling, taking hours to machine a 3D part, not being able to network.
The cost of upgrading a machine depends on your location and the model and age of your machine.
While the upgrade is quite a simple procedure we have had several instances when customers have tried to carry out the upgrade themselves and have damaged equipment by installing incorrectly.
As a result the upgrades will have to be carried out by a Denford Agent or Engineer.

Just to add, any controls older than the above, that is not a Baldor, cannot be upgraded by Denford.
eg, these would be GSM controls, North East PNC x and possibly others
Search for systems like these as a start to finding suitable software and hardware for retrofitting to your older machine:
EMC (Linux)
Mach3 from Artsoft (Windows)
DeskCNC (Windows)

Apart from fitting the new Baldor eurocard and USB bulkhead you need to rewire the supply to the machine's feed and speed pots (potentiometers)
This diagram shows what you need to do: [edit: 11th June 2012]
You may also need to adjust the MINimum speed on the baldor analogue card in the rack, see this post:
