Microrouter Compact
VR 5.12 (latest version from website)
Delivered April 2006
Machine working fine since received machine in April until transferred to new school last week. Customer said that when homing in VR milling, the program says it is milling, while the machine is not moving at all, although it recognizes the machine, and locks the door (hears the click as well) and displays the feed rate %. The error message came up saying that it "didn't home in 55 seconds you may jog the machine to find the problem", but the machine will not jog either. Spindle will not move.
Tried the secret button on VR 5 and nothing different. Customer has cleaned debris from e-stop (removed the rectangle axes access panel on bottom of machine and took e-stop apart to clean), micro switches, and also the motor (motor does work in a power supply by self), ALL fuses have been replaced with new ones just purchased. Power Distribution card only has 2 of the 3 lights lit. The one not lit is the spindle motor (third upper left light). Control card is showing the green 8, h, - when appropriate. The 3 stepper motors are cold. Customers smelled a burning smell a few days ago, but there were no signs of burns on the circuit board and out puts were checked and all are fine.
