Cannot open door on MicroRouter Compact
When power is enabled to the machine, the cabinet door will still not open. VR Milling will connect to the machine and all axes will home and travel. Spindle will not engage, but the SGR will engage (green diode lights up) Light on door guard timer will not illuminate when spindle motor is turned off or when machine is first turned on.

I can disassemble the locking mechanism and take it all apart - with the red catch end separated I can then remove the latch and I can manually press the plunger. With the machine turned on - when I manually depress the plunger I will get a gaurd open error and when release, machine ready. However, this has not corrected the spindle drive issue and door still remains in a locked position and lock mechanism will not function.

The problem is caused because no power is getting through to either the spindle drive or the timer relay.
When you power on the Live is connected through Fuse 1 (F1) to a contact of the E-stop Relay.
When the E-stop is released the E Stop (ESR) relay should Energise this will then put power to the timer relay which when it times out unlocks the guard.
If you try to start the spindle the SGR relay switches the power from the Timer to the Spindle Drive. This should lock the guard and enable the spindle.
From what you have described the E-stop relay must be energising as VR milling is being allowed to run and not displaying an E-Stop alarm.
There can only be two posible causes for the problem.
1 Check Fuse F1 is not blown. (This would prevent power gettingto the spindle or timer)
2 The E-Stop Relay could have a faulty contact (This would again prevent power gettingto the spindle or timer)
You can find out which thisis by turning on the machine.
Using a multimeter on AC Volts measure from a wire labled N to the top of fuse 1 (wire labled L) you will have 110V
Now measure from N to wire Number 1 on F1 you should still have 110V (if not the fuse is blown)
If you have 100V then Ensure the E-stop is released.
Measure from N to wire number 2 on the ESR or SGR and you should have 110V. If not the E-Stop relay is faulty.
Hope this helps.
If you want a schematic diagram send me an e-mail and I will forward.
