Can anyone tell me what my pump should be pulling?
I am only getting 12.5psi

The image is a bit blurry but that looks to be 12.5 inHg (inches Mercury) where a full vacuum is 29.92 inHg so the vacuum is not good but it depends on the pump spec. 12.5 inHg is about 6.1 psi. I've pulled double that vacuum with an air injection vacuum generator.

My bad should read the gauge better it is 12.5inHg
Pump is 115v
Had the pump in bits and everything look ok but I’m no expert
I’m guessing it’s the one that came with the machine.
Will get the spec off the pump later this evening

The part number VP0625-V1014-D2-0511 is searchable and comes up with quite a few hits on ebay and the maker https://www.nitto-kohki.eu/images/storie ... p_0625.pdf . Quoted 9.84 inHg max vacuum so you've got a bit better so it seems it's working. The PDF gives the performance specs for flow, vacuum etc.

Yep same spec as mine, they just aren't designed for use with the type of bed you have. Did you try it with the rubber and cover all the holes?
On the original Trend units the version they did for use with a vacuum cleaner had a fluted nozzle then went in to the pipe from the vac, this allowed it to draw air from the bed and from the room as a vacuum cleaner is designed for constant air flow not pulling a vacuum. Using a vacuum cleaner might have to be the way to go with that bed. If you got a larger version of the pump (ebay amazon as fish tank pumps) it would be quieter BUT you will end up drawing dust through the open holes into the pump.

Yer tried it with the mat and still not strong enough.
Have all the fittings for cleaner to run it, just need to cut a 63mm hole in the body to mound the port in

It should be fine.
Have you cleaned the filter? Also check for dust in the clear pipe.

he is using a very different vacuum bed which has lots of very small holes that are all open unlike the Trend bed with the ball valves. I think it is more designed for use on a vacuum cleaner which requires a constant airflow and will act as a form of extraction at the same time rather than a proper vacuum pump designed to evacuate a sealed area.
