X axis stalling at high speeds

Hi
I have a second hand Microrouter that was working fine. Now, the X axis has started stalling on the first 8 inches of travel away from the home position when moved at full speed. If I jog at 2000, it stalls. If I jog at 1500 it moves fine. Once I've cleared the first 8 inches or so, I can jog at the full 2000 speed without problem. Only the X axis is affected.
What might be causing this, and how do I go about rectifying it?
Thanks

1. Remove & clean both nuts.
2. Spray slides with silicone lubericant & leave to dry for 4 hours.

Thanks for your reply Martin.
I'm new to CNCing; I've only had it for a few short months. Could you please explain in a little more detail exactly what is involved in "remove and clean both nuts" please? Or refer me to a document/website that give more details.
Thanks in anticipation.

I'd try the lubing procedure here first:

This may be all the problem is - if not then the nuts could need cleaning out.
This manual should help:

Thank you both for your replies.
The manuals that you referred me to are the reason that I originally joined this forum, but was sadly unable to find them; until you just pointed them out! So thanks.
I've just ordered my silicone lubricant..........

No problem, but I've only just posted them
we normally only post things that are asked for (if we can find them)

Hi,
I am experiencing similar stalling issues, I have tried lubing the ballscrews and slide rails with no joy, when you mention

to what nuts are you refering too, is it the thrust coupling??

Yes. If you remove them one at a time make sure you don't swap them over & check that they are in the same aligment when you refit them as it is a four start thread.

Hi again,
I have removed and cleaned the nuts and followed the lubing procedure, but I'm still experiencing stalling, even at 1500mm/m, it seems more apparent mid - 3/4 of the x axis travel, are there replacement nuts available if these are worn? Or could it be an issue with the motor?
