Customer Question: Microturn NS --- Customer changed to the industrial chuck which lessons the cutting distance. The piece trying to cut needs an additional 1/8" to cut. Can the safety stop be made 1/8" shorter so more room to work. When cutter is brought back all the way, there is still have about an inch before it would hit the tailstock holder. Can the stopper be shortened about 1/8"-1/4" which would still give 3/4" between the cutter and the tailstock holder

Response: You may want loosen the “Z” home switch bracket and slide it back to give you more Z travel, this should be easier than cutting the pushrod. Make sure you slide the tailstock back or the cross slide will hit it. You will have to reset all your offsets and you may have to go into “Machine Capabilities” and increase your Z travel, not too much or you’ll run the tool into the 3-jaw chuck. If you still need more Z travel take the pushrod off the cross slide re-drill it and trim off the excess then reinstall it and reset the offsets.
