Micro turn

Hello,
I have a micro turn cnc lathe serial number 6147. I am attempting to learn the software and make sure the machine is operational. I have been able to verify the spindle works and it moves on the y axis. However, when i attempt the home the machine on the x axis it makes noise as if it should be moving but there is no movement. Any ideas on this????
