Hey guys. So I followed some previous advice and got a gender changer for my cable. Unfortunately it is still not working. I shot a video taking a look at the lathe. I was wondering if anyone could identify any problems? Thanks, let me know if you need anymore information.

Have you tried connecting using Denford Machine Firmware EasyUpgrader?
You can download it for free from,
https://website.denford.ltd.uk/index.php ... -downloads
It will search through all the ports on the computer looking for the Nexstep Control Card. If it fails to find it you can try Workbench which you can get off the VRTurning download.

Have you tried Workbench?
If it does not connect it is either the RS232 lead, NextStep card or the computer.

I actually couldn't fund workbench... would you be able to link me? and alright, I'll check the computer. It's both a new computer and lead, so I'm guessing it might be the card..

You need the VRTurning install which you can download from here,
https://website.denford.ltd.uk/index.php ... -downloads
Then you need "Mint Machine Center and Mint WorkBench Build 5628 setup.exe" which is in VRTurning1_35/Utility directory. You then need to search all ports. It will either find it but say the firmware is not present ( you can send download the firmware at this point to the card) or will not detect it which would point to a faulty card if the computer & RS232 are correct.

Okay yes then I'm assuming it's a faulty card. I've used mint before and it says can not detect machine. Any ideas as to where I can purchase a new card in Ontario Canada?
