I have a “Conect” Minormill running VR Mill 2.31 It was working fine till we relocated it and the
E-Switch got knocked on, the machine was started with switch activated, and now It can't connect via the comms. Have tried all the suggestions on this site and have traced most of the wiring, there is a 27v feed to the driver board but the led's on the safety solenoid are out. Is there any possible way of getting a wiring diagram for this machine, or anyway of converting it to a Denford ?. Have not included any photos as having trouble reducing their size. Any suggestions very welcomed
Thanks

I'm not sure we still have any info on the Conect machines - I certainly haven't seen the folder for a good few years and we've thrown a lot of stuff away in the move to new premises.
I'd suggest that someone like angel tech might have an old RS232 Baldor Denstep controller which you could get working with VRMilling v2 - there isn't much to those machines if you don't need to use the manual buttons

I found this info in the .mnt file for the Conect250 (it just explains the commands used to talk to the old hardware via RS232)

Code: Select all

No mint required for the Conect Router
This file is just for installation purposes
Do not delete

Just for the record - the commands used sent to Conect Forth Chip:-
(9600 baud : Parity Even : Data Bits 7 : Stop Bits 2)

***** To get machine enabled:

reset
mode0
lathe
o

***** To get position data back:

xz?

***** To home axis:

park-z
zdZ15000

park+y
ydY50000

park-z
zdZ15000

park-x
xdX50000

Home machine positions are then X500 Y500 Z150.

***** A linear move:

***** A circular move:

***** start spindle
