Recently upgraded computer and software from Windows 98 to Windows XP.
Now when a .dxf file is used to engrave an acyrlic plaque the program length and the time to run are doubled.
The machine now makes numerous plunge cuts, moving up and down like a sewing machine, rather than using long single sweep cuts.
The Same .dxf files that took 20 minutes(in Windows 98 ) to cut, now take 40 - 50 minutes to cut (in Windows XP).
Are there any settings that need to be changed to get the machine to move faster????

I am having the exact same problem and we also upgraded from '98 to XP. Have you gotten any solutions?

A few settings we changed that speed the machine up a little:

In the fanucm.ini file. (look in C:\Denford\Config )
[Micromill 2000]
MAX FEED=11.8 change to 19.0

In the VR Milling software under the Setup tab, select Setup Machine Parameters
Under Micromill 2000, select FEED
MAX CONTOUR FEED 300 change to 500

In the MillCAM Designer program, under the Create G-Code tab, select Set G-Code Parameters. Under Material select Acrylic, then change the Cutter XY Feed Rate up to 19.00.

Cut a few test pieces and listen to the stepper moters, if they sound like they are stalling or the machine isn't holding offsets then reduce your feed rate in MillCAM Designer.

The feed rate came up a little with these new setting, but is still not as fast as it was.

In the MillCAM Designer program, under the Create G-Code tab,
Select Set G-Code Parameters.
In the "Set Tooling" window
Under Material select Acrylic
Select Cutter 0.063
then change the Cutter XY Feed Rate to 10.00
Click SAVE - bottom row of options
In the "Save As" window type in the file name 063.FSF
Click OK
Click OK to close the "Set Tooling" window.
