Miromill, VR Milling v5.24, Aug. 2008
Microturn, VR Turning v1.17, Sept. 2007
Both the mill and lathe are new and have never been used. We installed all the software and that operates correctly, except when you try to connect to the machine. The program searches the comm ports looking for the machines. Both of the machines use USB connections to the computer.
Can you please advise what is needed to fix this error.
No USB Connection to Microturn and Micromill

You will need to install the Baldor USB drivers from the VR Milling and VR Turning software CD’s.
For the Microturn
1). Insert the VR Turning CD into the Computers CD-ROM drive, when the window opens to install the software opens, click Exit and leave the CD in the CD-ROM drive.
When you connect the USB cable, from the computer to the Microturn and turn the power on to the machine, a balloon should pop up on your computer screen stating “New Hardware Found”. Click on the balloon to open the “Add New Hardware” wizard. You will need to direct the installation for the Baldor USB drivers to the Baldor folder on the VR Turning CD in your CD-ROM drive. Or go to the computers Control Panel and select Add Hardware to install the drivers.
Mark which USB port you are using for the machine, the drivers are only loaded to that USB port. If you want to load the drivers to all of the USB ports, disconnect from the machine (click on the Machine button), plug the USB cable into the next port, connect to the machine and load the Baldor drivers to the port.
Continue the above steps for each USB port.
2). Make sure you have MICROTURN 2000 NS selected from the list of machines in VR Turning. The type of machine will be listed in the upper left corner of your computer screen, in the banner, after VR Turning.
If not, click on the Setup tab,

Check the voltage on the power connector (TB11) pins 1 & 2, of the control card in the back of the machine. It should read about 24 volts AC. Pins 4 & 5 should read about 24 volts.
Replace the fuse on the control card; it is right above the power connector. The fuse is a 6.3 amp fuse; you can get these at Radio Shack (PN 270-1068).
Check/replace the other fuses in the machine. The 3.15 amp fuse is Radio Shack PN 270-1065
There maybe a loose or broken wire connection that is causing the problem.
