Easimill Stepper Motors

Can anyone give me specification data on the steppers on my Easimill? In particular I need to know the motor rated current although additional data would be welcome.
Thanks

I'm guessing that they're the same as on an Easiturn, the old drives were rated at 4Amps, I believe. I ran the motors at 4Amps on Gecko drives and they often lost steps so I upped the current, I think it's somewhere between 5 & 6 Amps now and they are stable.

MAE steppers 200 steps rev size NEMA34, anything else on them is unreadable due to paint!

My reasoning is if they don't get hot then they're OK. (I can still put my hand on them after a good run)

Thanks

Thanks for this. I am working up to stripping out the original PNC3 controller and going for Mach 3 with Gecko drives. My plan is to use the existing stepper power supply (55Volt) with a Sound Logic break out board from Bob Campbell. I just need to decide on what Geckos to buy, any thoughts? From what I can see any of them will do the job.

I have opted for the Sound Logic "combo" board as my machine has in inverter drive on the spindle, should arrive any day now!

Yup!

Just what I did with the Easiturn :)

Including a Campbell board. I used G201's - the cheapest.

The nice thing is you can change the current with current set resistors.

The worst part is deciphering the wiring diagram :?

As an aside I found that I didn't get clocked the vat on campbell board but I've always got stuffed for it on Gecko stuff.
