Easiturn Fagor 8020tg control programming problem

Post by rab4steam » Thu 05 Nov , 2009 20:19 pm

Hi all,
I am having problems with my Denford Easiturn cnc lathe fitted with a Fagor 8020tg control.About a month ago i had accident with the baruffaldi tool post & this now needs to go away for repair , so to keep the machine running i have bought a qctp & holders but no matter how i program the machine i cannot get it to run a program. Can anybody help me i am starting to tear my hair out with frustration
below are 2 versions of the same program but neither will run
n10 g70
n20 g90
n30 g94
n40 g0 x5.000 z5.000
n50 t12.12 (machine stalls on this line & will go no further )
n60 m06
n60 g97 s2000 m3

i have also tried this way to program same as above to g40 then
n50 g50 t12 x0.0411 z-0.0032
this program runs but it is not using the tool offsets from the tool table instead just using t00 offsets all the time
Help please what am i doing wrong ?

Both Barrufaldi toolpost that we have used had a toolpost clamp signal that would have been used to let the control know that the toolpost was clamped correctly.

I presume from what you are saying that you have just removed the toolpost & fitted the manual holder. In this case the control would need to be told that it now has a manual toolpost. I can`t remember exactly how is was done on the Fagor. Have you got any info that came with the machine? Is there not a menu that lets you in to the machine parameters?

I can`t locate a instalation manual for the Fagor 8020tg control but it may be similar to this.

Parameters 700 onwards look to be the toolpost area.

hi martin
thanks for your quick reply , yes i have the manuals for the machine but all i can see is paramater 106 which says that if automatic toolpost fitted alter to suit stations needed or if manual toolpost use 99 , this i have altered to 99
for manual tool change you also need to alter 98 - 5 to 1 & this then means that you have to use m06 to effect a tool change , but non of this seems to work , also i am no expert as far as cnc is concerned . at the moment my paramater is with a friend who is trying to sort out another problem so i can't delve a bit deeper

A stab in the dark....
Have you tried t00.12
This may call up tool 0 (and so not try to index the toolpost), but apply offset number 12.
