Is it a Fanuc 0 control we are talking about?

If it is, then when in EDIT mode...

Entering O0200 followed by the DELETE key will delete program number 0200

Entering O-0200 followed by the DELETE key will delete all programs upto 0200

So obviously, O-9999 then DELETE erases all progs in memory

Note:
O is the letter O
0 is the number zero

Didn't Worked

All these different keystrokes are listed in the back of the Fanuc 0T maintenance manual. I don't have one to hand so previous post was from memory :!: Anyone got access to one?

The Fanuc OT does have some commands to clear all programs in memory also all parameters and offsets.

You must make sure you do not clear the parameters as this would be a big problem.

With the power to the machine OFF

To clear all stored programs Press in the DELETE key and hold down then power on. :)

The only time you may want to delete parameters is if the machine has lost its parameters or the memory has become currupt.

Take care when doing this :!:

Power on with the RESET KEY pressed and you loose all Parameters and offsets

Pressing Reset and Delete at Power on will clear both Parameters and Offsets.

before messing with my machine :(

You can download the parameters and programs via the RS232 -
However, its a real pain to set up - there's a few parameters scattered around.
Warning :!: I have known controls wipe the parameters if you turned off while it was trying to download them (and hung up because of incorrect settings) :!:

There are also diagnostic settings which I'm pretty sure can't be backed up - these store options, timers and counters that the PLC uses.

If I were you, I'd spend a couple of hours going through all the parameters and diagnostic bits and offsets - anything you can find really - and writing them down - most will be 00000000 anyway so its not such a big job - it'll save you a lot of hassle in the future

good luck

I agree with ADMIM.

It is worth an hour to write down all the parameters and diagnostics.

If you ever see a message BAT flashing on the operators panel then it is a warning the battery backup is low. If you dont replace the batteries you will loose the parameters.

If you see the BAT message DO NOT TURN THE POWER OFF.

The batteries must be replaced while the power is on.

to back up the parameters press param then output start
Oh have to be in mdi or edit mode (can't remember which)

And... You have to manually write down the 900 series params as it doesn't output them :( - thats all your options etc.

To restore the params from compter you wil have to manually enter all the info in the relevant params for conectivity. But I don't know which they are off the top of my head, after all it's not every day you do it :o

The above only applies if you have just fritzed  the control of all its parameters

And back up any marcos you might have in the control - 8000 & 9000 series progs, although I can't remember if these can be hidden by using a parameter. :?:
