Rigid Tapping Issue on Harrison Tu150 Fanuc OT-A

Post by GRAY -ARCHERY » Tue 12 Mar , 2024 11:57 am

Hi All ,
I hope that you can assist, at the moment we are trying to attempt rigid or floating tapping on our machine and no matter what combination of G84,G88 we put in, it gives us an improper gcode erroe P/S alarm 010. When we use m29 to designate threading before the taping cycle, it gives out the alarm of " M Code completed" and it has done nothing. Is there a parameter that we need to set to enable rigid tapping ?

Does anybody have the parameter/maintenance/operations manual for these OT-A controllers?

It is possible to do rigid tapping on a TU150 fitted with an OT-A control.

We only fitted spindle speed encoder & not a position encoder.

Hi Martin, thank you for the response
when we put in M29 is gives the "mcode complete" error.

When we run G84, it gives the P/S alarm 010. I have tried all the combos of g84 and its not happy.

Is there a speed limit on G84?

I think you need to use a G32 command.

This works on my machine with a Fanuc control

G00 X0 Z5. G97 S250 M3
G32 Z-10. F1. M5
Z5. M4
M5
M30
