Y axis is no longer referencing

Formula 1 in Schools from Hamburg, we have a problem with our milling machine Denford Compact 1000.
The Y axis is no longer referencing. When trying to do so, it travels slowly away from the limit switch and not towards it.
When overriding home and driving manually, it travels at the normal speed in all directions. When hitting the limit switch, it stops like it should, but when we try to drive to the other end (which hasn’t a mechanical switch), it doesn’t stop but tries to go further.
The little “Y”-sign in the home flag remains green all the time.
After repeated testing, the axis won’t even go to the limit switch now, it now just stops after a few seconds.

It sounds like you have a faulty home switch.

You may be able to vac the switch out if you place the vacuum next to it & activate the switch manually several times.
