Q: My Micromill will not move the full 130 mm of travel in the Y axis and gives the message "move exceeds machine limits" when running a program.
The VR CNC Milling software may not be set to 'Micromill 2000'. The difference between a "Micromill" and a "Micromill 2000" is that the Micromill 2000 has an extended travel in the Y axis.
Check the information panel on the side of the machine to check which type you have.
To configure your software, from the menu bar, select Setup > Setup machine parameters.
Enter denny as the password and then right-click 'Micromill 2000' and left-click "set as active machine" on the popup menu
Q: I am trying to get my VR CNC Milling software to link to my machine but it keeps telling me "machine is not switched on or check the RS232 cable."
Make sure you have the latest version of VR Milling which should find the machine automatically (older versions required the parameters to be set correctly first)

Q: My machine stops moving part way through a program or makes erratic movements.
There are known problems when using any version of VR CNC Milling less than v2.10.x in Windows 2000 - update to the latest version by checking our main website www.denford.co.uk and look under support (technical)
Q: I am receiving "Move Exceeds Limits" errors.
This error can be caused by many factors such as offsets or incorrect coordinates.

Q. The spindle is not working / rotating
a.) Close the guard.
b.) If the mill being used is fitted with a spindle override knob, make sure the knob is turned far enough to the right.
c.) Check the spindle rate in the software.
d.) Check for blown fuses.
Q. The axes will not move.
a.) Check that the emergency stop button has been disengaged.
b.) If the machine being used is fitted with a feed override knob, make sure the knob is turned far enough to the right.
c.) Check the feed rate in the software.
d.) Check that the machine has not triggered any overtravel limit switches (usually only fitted to the larger servo drive machines)
e.) Check for blown fuses.
