Hi all, new here so a little bit of and intro first.

Been an engineer since I was 17 (now 39, no really , not working as an engineer anymore though, self employed as a sign maker.

I've just bought an old Easimill and need to change the motor to a single phase one, or run a 415v O/P inverter (expensive)
The motor is not a dual voltage one so the cheaper inverters are no good as they only output 220v 3 phase, also the shaft is quite long so an adapter will be needed or a special order motor sourced.

So how have other users got round this problem, what motors did you use?

Not sure if this would do the job, but £300 seems fairly cheap to keep things as they are.

You have to have a dual voltage motor to run these inverters, they output 220v 3 phase.
You can get inverters that output 415v 3 phase as well but they are more expensive.

Although I have found one suitable for £330 but to add this on top of the purchase price of the mill plus I've got to buy some more tooling as my old mill was 30int and this one is R8, all for a hobby

I think I'll have to adapt a single phase motor for now, that way I won't alter anything on the machine so if I find a suitable dual voltage motor I can get a small inverter to get the variable speed and soft start.
