I have a Router 6600 pro and I would like to be able to machine aluminium. Do you have a machining plan? (The closest thing supplied is hard wood/acrylic.

Are you using VRMilling to create the G & M code file?
If so make sure you have the machine type set to the Router 6600 PRO.
The settings for aluminium are. Feed Rate = 400, Spindle Speed = 18000, Step Down = 30%.

Thank you , I am using VRMilling but I don't know what a G&M code file is. Is it .qpp? Do I just take existing denford supplied plan and edit it to the numbers you suggest?

Hi,
How are you creating the program? If using the DXF import or quickCAM 2D design then the material library in the VR Milling will be used.
Make sure you are running the latest version of VR Milling as easlier versions did not have aluminium in the material library.
If you are manually programming have a max depth of cut 30% of the tool diameter and Feed Rate = 400, Spindle Speed = 18000

If you don't have the PRO machine selected or are generating using QuickCam 2 D Design on a computer without VRMilling installed then no ferrous materials are shown in the material list.
