Program hung part way through

Program hung part way through
Part way through running a program on a microrouter compact it just hung i.e. the program stopped incrementing and the machine stopped moving, although the spindle was still operating. I don't think the program was the fault as it was an imported gerber file for producing a pcb, converted to a fanuc file. What could cause this and how could the program be restarted at the appropriate point as it was part way through a block operation?

If all axes have just stopped it could be a fuse, or the stepper drive ribbon cable come loose.
If it's working again now then it could have be a USB data fault. Older machines should be updated to the latest version or VR Milling 5 and then the firmware upgraded with easy upgrader.
