Customer Issue:

An upgrade (DOS to VR) to 2 Novamills was completed (several months ago) and now that the customer is trying to use the machines none of the axis will home. The computer is connecting to the machine and the Denstep card is indicating an 8 on the seven segment LED. When the customer clicks on the home buttons nothing will happen. All fuses have been checked and the correct machine is selected in machine parameters. Need troubling shooting sets if possible.

Do the axis positions count when homing ? ie, does the machine go into homing sequence and its just the axes that don't move ?
Do other commands work - eg, run M03 from the M Code button ?

When the customer clicks on home all, the Z axis counter will count and then the machine will time out about about 50 seconds. They used the secret home button and then tried to jog, again the counters would change but the axis would not move (all 3 of them).

If the axes do not move, but the control is powered up and connected to the PC, then it could be:
Emergency stop contact is not allowing power to the drives
One of the fuses has blown (F1 in particular)
The input voltage from the main transformer is too high/low

Check that you have 24VDC and 28VAC on the connectors as shown here:

If this all looks OK, then there must be a drive / drive PSU problem.

Check to see if the AC motor power is applied to the NextMove. If not check the 28V supply fuse.

If the supply is to the board then the Nextmove must be faulty. You could try unplugging all the axes and then add then one at a time to see if any will run.
