Autocad DXF DWG Files

Trying to run a dfx and/or dwg file that was done in Autocad in VR Milling v5.23. When the file is opened nothing shows up except the red datum lines.
Is there something we are not doing in Autocad to save the files properly?
The files open in Autocad.
The files are attached in a zipped folder.
Thanks for your help.

I had a quick look at this but dont know much about AutoCAD.
I opened the DWG the selected the text and exported as a DXF file.
On importing the file into QuickCAM 2D (which is the same import routine) the TEXT font was not found and an alternative had to be selected.
I suspect you have not selected the text to be exported as a DXF before carying out the export function.
It would be better to convert the text to lines within AutoCAD before saving the file or exporting the DXF.
I suspect the reason the dwg will not import into VR is that the text is seen as text not lines so ignored There must be a convert to path or other function you could use.
This is somthing that should be asked on an autoCAD forum.

Try also saving as different dxf versions. Later dxf export versions put all sorts of extra data in the file.
For most 'simple' geometry transfers such as CAD to CAM, you just don't need it. So try an export as R12/13, if you have that option.
If that still doesn't work, can you export a simple DXF from VR milling (sorry, that may be a stupid question, but I know nothing about what VR milling can do).
Or can someone supply a small dxf file that does open with VR milling?
So we can compare the two (you can open a dxf file in Notepad or similar).
See attachment for how to interpret the content.
I had a problem importing dxf files into the programmer for an EMCO lathe (am I allowed to say that on here!!) - and I finally tracked it down to a specific order of the entity data.

Andy, we try and help convert all users regardless of the machines they own

(even Emco users)
I normally select the Autocad 13 or 14 when using DXF as I find these the most reliable.

I've looked at the DWG, and I think the problem is that the object is a text object which isn't being recognised by VR Milling.
If you explode the text in the CAD system until it becomes polylines and arcs, this will then be picked up by VR Milling
I tried it, and saved as v2000 dxf, and was able to get the text in (WMHS)

Thank you very much - saving the AutoCAD file as version 12 allowed the mill to see it as a DXF format -as posted on the web.
