Can we use the Desktop Tutor with VR Milling 5 ?

Thanks, We now have control of the Triac and can control it using VR CNC Milling.
A few other questions:
- Are we able to use the Desktop Tutor to control the Triac at the same time as using the software?
- There are several sample CNC programs supplied with VR CNC Milling, should we be able to run any of them with our machine or will some only work with specific machines?
Thanks,
Ian

There are .keys files in
C:\Program Files\Denford\VRMilling5 - or wherever the vrmilling5.exe is located.
You select the COM port and the .KEYS file to use in setup->machine parameters in VR Milling 5 under Input / Output Devices
I think you will want to use Fanuc0M.keys depending on the overlay you have.
Its best if you restart VR Milling now.
You can view the .KEYS file with keyedit.exe
(don't change them using this as its a bit unfinished - really just used by us to see that the layout looks OK)
If you really want to change the layout or add button functions, then open the .KEYS file in a text editor and figure it out from there.
If you do mess it up, you can always copy the original .KEYS file from the installation CD.
Even though your machine is old, the upgraded control card will quite happily create 3D models, so you can run any of the example programs - give the old favourite Teddy a go
You may need to reduce the feedrates of the programs because the Triac spindle is lower than the Routers (which Teddy normally runs on) - this is easy - just select the material override button from AUTO mode, and choose something more suitable - this will then override the feeds and speeds that were originally set in the program.
If there are no materials set for this machine, then go to the menu Setup->Materials->Edit Materials
eg, enter Wood - Feed: 800mm/min Speed:4000RPM Stepdown: 150%
The stepdown is used in the DXF/DWG import wizard when calculating toolpaths
