Pro desktop v 8 & artcam

Post by tecteach » Thu 01 Nov , 2007 13:37 pm

Can anyone help me please !

I am starting to use Pro Desktop V8 and Artcam in the new year and am usingthe novamill cnc milling machine to machine the products pupils design.
Which software do I need to convert the Pro desktop / artcam files into the machine code and of course how much does it cost ?

Also, how does styrofoam machine as opposed to the more expensive polyethylene foam ? I want to do some ipod type products and pupils will finish off the prototypes with spray paints for a professional look.
Why did I choose this profession, cos it aint for the money !

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

ProDesktop will create an STL file - this can then be loaded into QuickCAM 3D, or QuickCAM PRO which will create the toolpath and g-code file for the machine. You'll have to contact sales AT denford.co.uk for a qoute.

AFAIK The latest version of ArtCAM can output STL files as well, so you then use the same method to get the designs machined.
