error message: invalid object allocation table
Can anyone please tell me what this is and how to prevent or fix it? I rebooted the computer and it seemed to have resolved itself.

Do you get this when connecting to the machine ?
I have seen some problems like this with earlier versions of VR milling - it seemed to be getting confused when connecting to the machine, and sending the wrong MINT (logic) file - the error is to do with the firmware version and the compiled Mint file being different
I'd recommend upgrading to v5.13 anyway:

Then also install and run EasyUpgrader from here to get your machine onto the latest firmware:
