Hi

New Zealand is one of those places where earthquakes are a routine event. You can view details of the latest quake here:

For this reason, I have attached the lathe to the wall to prevent it dancing around or falling over in a big shake. I drilled holes at each end of the tray and fitted chains as shown.

I could have bolted the lathe to the floor, but that would have been more difficult to do.
