Has anyone tried using continuous belts, instead of linked belts, on this lathe? Would it be difficult to fit the upper belt if it was of the continuous type?

Hi
I considered this option when I refurbished my lathe. I did some research and found that linked belts are superior in this application. They absorb vibration and are easy to replace or shorten.
Adding a continuous belt requires the removal of the intermediate shaft within the cabinet, and the intermediate shaft in the head stock. Removal of the spindle is not required. The job is relatively easy after the first time.
Is your lathe similar to mine? There seem to have been a number of versions.
