Guitar project

Post by monttodd » Wed 14 May , 2008 18:00 pm

Here is a guitar designed by one of my students in Pro/Desktop. He used QuickCam Pro to create the machining strategies. The attached document shows different stages of the guitar. Notice that the prototype was machined in pink insulation foam before he cut into the alder blank. He also did a small inlay with zebra wood to enhance the color of the wood. He designed and machined the pickguard and cover plates using QuickCam 2D. The neck came from a broken Ibenez that he purchased from a freind at a very low cost.
