I have just used Quick CAM 2D to create some templates for Haloween Lanterns.
I have used the image contour tool within the software to create a template to manualy trim from.
Process:
Find an image for a Lantern you like.
Import the image into QuickCAM 2D
Contour the Image
Rotate and Scale to suit your pumpkin.
Print the template.
Hollow out your pumpkin.
Trim round the required template then using masking tape secure to the pumpkin.
Using a small screwdriver follow the lines in the design pressing through the template into the Pumpkin
The template is destroyed as you make mark out the design.
Finally remove the remains of the templat and then cut the finished design.
I attach a few sample images and the Quickcam template and files.
