Wanted: Viceroy TDS1 bits

Post by penfold » Wed 14 Mar , 2007 13:34 pm

Accessories for my newly recommissioned TDS1 are sought and would be given a good home. A spare tumble reverse assembly(mine rattles abominably), B(18tooth) and G(35tooth) change wheels, a metric to imperial banjo/wheel set(or the relevant bits for changing the leadscrew), and (I should be so lucky) a copy/taper turning attachment are ardently desired, but any genuine denford paraphenalia would be of interest. Also, can anyone explain why the apron on mine has a little brass flip lid oiler on the righthand side which seems to serve no purpose(no oilbath, although it could use one).

cheers,
David

Hi

The oiler should lead to the oil bath in the apron. There is a pin in the oil bath that indicates correct oil level (but it can't be seen with the apron on the lathe).

Just squirt 90 grade gear oil into the oiler until it's "full".
