I have to dispose of my 1983 ORAC lathe to make workshop space.
This has been updated from the original Denford hardware several years ago using a
HC12 microprocessor card (now dead) with a DOS text interface.
It has been used occasionally over the years for simple turning and screw cutting (mostly
plastics & non-ferrous) with excellent results.
It has a Telemecanique VFD (variable speed) with front panel controls, DM860 Stepper
Drives using existing Denford 60v PSU, and 12v (new PSU) powered shaft encoder pulse
signals (1 pulse per rev & 48 pulses per rev).
The lathe has no control card but a Mach3 compatible card (and probably its PSU) could
be attached for immediate use.
Lathe has the original 5" chuck & key (no outside jaws) and no tool post.
A new QH machine lamp is also fitted.
Based in West Sussex, near Horsham
I am looking for ~£300 but the lathe has to go.
If anyone is interested and wants more information please email me at genetass@aol.com
